in '/boot/grub/grub.conf', you will see;

  splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
  hiddenmenu

change to;

  # splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
  # hiddenmenu

or remove both, or leave 'hiddenmenu' if you are not using multi boot.

at end of kernel line, you will see something like 'rhgb quiet'. remove these.

because you will be seeing a lot of info, add 'vga=794' or 'vga=795' to end
of kernel line to get more rows and columns in display.

hth.
