I don't know what RPM you installed, but certainly not the official Fedora RPMs. With java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0-0.25.b09.fc9.i386, there's no /usr/java at all, so /usr/java/latest points nowhere. And I've checked the specfile in devel (F12) and I don't see it mentioned there either.
