I do have Fedora 10 running nicely on a set of school computers with 512MB of RAM (and 32MB of Video RAM), and, aside from when the students are using the GIMP or other memory-intensive projects, they can't tell the difference between those old computers and our new Core 2 Duo ones with 2GB of RAM.
