Frank:

Any distribution should work. They are mostly running the same
underlying software.

Generally speaking, Fedora is intended to be a rapid-turnover
distribution that lets us work with some of the latest (relatively)
stable bits. Support for a particular version is fairly short-term
(roughly 13 months) and is therefore unsuitable for a long-term
server, where you might hope to run the machine for years with nothing
but essential security patches. if you're looking for a longer-term
support, consider the commercially-supported Red Hat enterprise or the
community-supported CentOS.
