Here's an idea.

Create a one line file http://host.example.com/index.html

<meta http-equiv="refresh"
  content="0;url=https://host.example.com/svn/svn1"; />

Thanks, but It does not prompt for an SSL certificate. It appears
the same as the Proxy code with no SSL activated, ie passwords
are in the clear.
