It does seem to me that the usage of diskdruid in anaconda (installer) is necessary just to tell it which partitions to use (i.e. /dev/sda1 for /boot, /dev/sda3? for swap and /dev/sda4 for /) so I don't know that you're getting much value from gparted but suit yourself.
