UTF-8 is how the text is encoded, whether plain text or HTML, that's not
the option you want. It'll be some option about rich text, formatted
text, or something else that sounds fancy.
Could someone who knows how to disable HTML gmail postings write a FAQ
page about this that we could quickly point to? I looked at the
guidelines for this list (link below, in the list signature), which lead
to another page about this sort of thing, but gmail wasn't one of the
clients with information.
