> mount: error mounting /dev/root on /sysroot as ext3: no such file or directory
another piece of info:
it wasnt really clear what the system found missing
was it /dev/root or /sysroot?
with the f10liveinstall mounted on /f10liv as seen in my fc5:
[root@bootp dev]# pwd
/f10liv/dev
[root@bootp dev]# ls
fd fuse ptmx random stdin tty zero
full null pts stderr stdout urandom
[root@bootp dev]#
not much in here, most particularly no dev
/sysroot exists inside the initrd
and there is another /dev in there as well
but it also has no file root
[root@bootp dev]# pwd
/f10liv/root/clean/dev
[root@bootp dev]#
[root@bootp dev]# ls
console ptmx ram1 tty0 tty11 tty3 tty6 tty9 ttyS2
mapper ram systty tty1 tty12 tty4 tty7 ttyS0 ttyS3
null ram0 tty tty10 tty2 tty5 tty8 ttyS1 zero
so the f10liveinstall seems deficient, no /dev/root
unless there is yet another dev buried somewhere
any comments?
where else to look for /dev/root?
