I plastic cutting board works well as a base for the laptop and keeps the bed covers and/or pants legs from covering the intake vents. One other thing that helps is an extended battery pack that hangs down. It will lift the laptop up another 1/2 inch or so allowing the vent to work even better. I still miss the keyboard on my old Wyse-75 terminal. It had a flip-down bar along the back length. I could keep it "hooked" over my knees and type away in an extreme slouch position with feet on the desk. Too bad laptops need their bottom vents open. Ob-fedora: /etc/sysconfig/cpuspeed be sure to add the following to help keep the laptop from being damaged if the vents do get covered. OPTS="$OPTS -t /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/temperature 50" -wolfgang -- Wolfgang S. Rupprecht http://www.full-steam.org/ (ipv6-only) You may need to config 6to4 to see the above pages. -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate/MailingListGuidelines
