Hi, When I plug in my phone Motorola W388 . Can i configure fedora 10 to use the modem. The modem works in windows but it requires a device driver PhSerUsb.sys to set it as a serial device and responds to serial queries on COM 03 and it needs another set of drivers to register it as a modem on windows. Drivers are provided by motorola. What makes me hopeful is the bInterfaceClass = Communication and bInterfaceSubClass = Modem (Abstract) on the lsusb -v output. Will I be able to use it on Linux ? Kindly guide me on how to do that if possible ? lsusb -v gives the output Bus 003 Device 002: ID 22b8:4181 Motorola PCS Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 1.10 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at Interface level) bDeviceSubClass 0 bDeviceProtocol 0 bMaxPacketSize0 64 idVendor 0x22b8 Motorola PCS idProduct 0x4181 bcdDevice 0.01 iManufacturer 1 Motorola iProduct 2 W388 iSerial 0 bNumConfigurations 1 Configuration Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 2 wTotalLength 39 bNumInterfaces 1 bConfigurationValue 1 iConfiguration 9 TI Modem bmAttributes 0xe0 Self Powered Remote Wakeup MaxPower 500mA Interface Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 4 bInterfaceNumber 0 bAlternateSetting 0 bNumEndpoints 3 bInterfaceClass 2 Communications bInterfaceSubClass 2 Abstract (modem) bInterfaceProtocol 0 None iInterface 5 TI Modem Interface Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x81 EP 1 IN bmAttributes 2 Transfer Type Bulk Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0040 1x 64 bytes bInterval 0 Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x01 EP 1 OUT bmAttributes 2 Transfer Type Bulk Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0040 1x 64 bytes bInterval 0 Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x82 EP 2 IN bmAttributes 3 Transfer Type Interrupt Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0010 1x 16 bytes bInterval 1 Device Status: 0x0000 (Bus Powered) lsmod gives the output: Module Size Used by cdc_acm 17668 0 fuse 49436 2 i915 53380 1 ................. however /dev and subdirectories does not have any ttyACMXX . -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate/MailingListGuidelines
