I'd always turned off spell checking in the browser (spell checking as
you type, in the preferences), but had a look at that, after reading
what you said.

On mine, the first language on the list is ticked,"en_HK," which doesn't
bear any semblance to my locale (en-AU), nor the languages set elsewhere
in Firefox (en-AU, en-US, en).  I can't see the logic in how they've
picked the spell checking language.
