Although one doesn't need to reboot in Linux, only this solved the 'access denied' and 'MTAB does not exist' errors. I was now able to transfer files. Aldo Foot wrote: > run 'service nfs stop' twice. This does not work. I tried it on both computers (after the reboot and solving of the transmission problem) and sunrpc and nfsd remain mounted, even after 3 or 4 iterations.
