When I run the 'Update System' 'cuz it's telling me I have updates... I

libavcodec.so.51 is needed by package gstreamer-ffmpeg-0.10.5-1.fc10.i386
libavcodec.so.51 is needed by package
xine-lib-extras-freeworld-1.1.16-1.fc10.i386
libavcodec.so.51 is needed by package
k3b-extras-freeworld-1.0.5-4.fc10.i386 : Success - empty transaction
and the update fails. Unfortunately for the silly updater...I HAVE that
file install in /usr/lib... in fact I have .51 .51.71 and .52 installed
... what's up?
Only files tracked in the RPM database and in the repository metadata matter.
"yum whatprovides libavcodec.so.51" should tell you, because there
is an ffmpeg-libs package at rpmfusion.org
Ok so here's what 'yum' thinks...
[root@merlin lib]# yum whatprovides libavcodec.so.51
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
Repository atrpms is listed more than once in the configuration
ffmpeg-libs-0.4.9-0.52.20080908.fc10.i386 : Libraries for ffmpeg
Repo : rpmfusion-free
Matched from:
Other : libavcodec.so.51
ffmpeg-libs-0.4.9-0.52.20080908.fc10.i386 : Libraries for ffmpeg
Repo : installed
Matched from:
Other : Provides-match: libavcodec.so.51
I'm just not the sharpest tool in the shed I guess 'cuz I'm stumped....
