Ok... now why would you need or want to do that? I've never actually tried display 0. On one of my machines, this is the relevant line in /etc/vncservers: VNCSERVERS="1:frankcox" and it works fine. If I understand what you're trying to do, i.e. tunnel your vnc session, you need to use something like this with ssh: ssh -L 5902:localhost:5901 myserver where myserver is the server that you're planning to log into.
