still valid for sure - /media remains the mount point for removable
media

mkdir /disk2
mount /dev/sdb1 /disk2

what's the difference? Even if you mount it somewhere, you can still
'bind' mount it elsewhere at the same time (usually better than symlink
- especially when using selinux)
