FC10 network install bug, pxe fine but NetworkManager fails once

Hi All,

I'm a part time admin of a public school with about 120 desktops running linux, currently with Fedora 7. I'm planning a summer upgrade and was hoping to use Fedora 10, but have a problem with the network installation.

For the machines I've tried, the installation always fails with a Network Error box stating "error configuring your network interface", but when I click Retry it then succeeds and all proceeds as expected. If I Ctl-Alt-F4 I see

carrier now ON (device state 2)
device state change: 2->3
carrier now OFF (device state 3)
device state change: 3->2
Deactivating Device (reason: 40)
Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both
carrier now ON (device state 2)
device state change: 2->3

and thats where it stays until I click the retry. It always succeeds if I click Retry and I have no problem with PXE connecting to the network, so it looks to me like a bug.

I'm wondering if there is some way to tell the kickstart image to Retry automatically, or if there is a way to get a newer installer image that might have fixed this problem. I'm not certain I'm savvy enough to open up the initrd and try to fix it myself, though this may be my choice of last resort.

Thanks for any help,
Bob Hoffman
