Hi, I have install 4Gb of ram on this HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop: http://www.smolts.org/client/show_all/pub_4d5ac78f-b263-4f95-a26d-5d248e5659aa The BIOS showed only 3Gb of RAM. Then I have update the BIOS with last version released from HP. Now the BIOS show correctly 4Gb of RAM, but Fedora10 x86_64 show only 3Gb of RAM (also smolt show 3Gb of RAM): > [root@lesca ~]# free > total used free shared buffers cached > Mem: 3093172 2771984 321188 0 1712 1549504 > -/+ buffers/cache: 1220768 1872404 > Swap: 6291448 93716 6197732 On this laptop I have test also Fedora9 with last kernel-PAE-x.x.x.i686 but also in this case the memori show is only 3Gb. Some suggest? Is a BIOS problem?
