I don't understand what you are expecting from this eth0 config if it is
your adsl interface... I would put almost nothing in this file:

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=none
HWADDR=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx <-- put the macaddress of your eth0 card
ONBOOT=yes
