I just tried to run yumex in X. After I entered the
root password, a screen came up showing an indicator
which got to 40%, and then the mouse locked up and
the disk light was solid on. I rebooted.

Is this normal for yumex?
No.
I use yumex on several F9 (i686 & X86-64) systems on a daily basis without
any problems

I'm running 32-bit F9. I would prefer the 64-bit edition, but the F9
book came with the 32-bit version only and I'm not up to downloading and
burning the 64-bit version. The 32-bit version runs pretty well.

I am running Yumex as I write this. No issues that I can find.

I am almost 100% 64 bit. Just enough 32 bit to keep me happy. :)
