Ooops! of course you never had a chance to enter a password since the
connection was terminated.

Actually a more accurate question is: how are you supposed to authenticate?
If the idea is to not enter a password, then not only you copy your
public key to
the sever, but you also copy the server's public key to your $HOME/.ssh.
