which brings up an off-topic question I have been wondering about:

why does linux root use Bash instead of ksh (my favorite shell for the last 20 years :-) )? 
Is Bash superior to ksh? I have not changed the root shell from Bash to ksh for fear of breaking
fedora scripts that depend upon Bash features.
