At a quick glance, not of these seemed to give what seems to me
the easiest way if you have the .iso file on a hard disk.

You can abstract the images directory from the .iso file
and copy it to /boot, and then add a stanza to grub.conf
to boot from this.

I know that isn't a full account, but there must be
a complete description of this somewhere on the web?
