I have faced a similar problem where instead of blue screen i faced a black screen twice ..Both time it happened when i double clicked a no resposive firefox tab . rest of symptoms are same .i.e ctrl+f1 works and ctrl+f7 is just gives a blinking cursor . > > I haven't found any useful log messages.
