sha1sum is a great idea
being non trusting, I have copied the file from CD to hard drive and compared with the download file using diff
K3B has a verify feature but it fails (bug on record)

Hi Bing!
Try running a checksum or shasum on the disks. If they pass I would tend to use them. The media check seems
to be sometimes unreliable.
