I'm attempting to install the latest vmware server onto my running Fedora 8
server (AMD x2 5600+ 4-GB RAM) and I continue to run into issues when it
attempts to create a kernel module. Has anyone run into this issue? And
how did you solve it?
TIA,
Gene Poole
Without any hint as to the error its going to be tough to give you the
right answer. The following URLs might help.
"How To Set Up VMware Tools On Various Linux Distributions"
http://howtoforge.com/vmware_tools_on_linux
"vmkernelnewbies"
http://groups.google.com/group/vmkernelnewbies
Depending on which version of the server and which architecure, you may
want to have the latest any-to-any for wmware (only available as a
.tar.gz) installed as well.
For more complete answers, please tell us the details of your problem,
including the exact package names if possible. VMWare has more
different versions of its product than I think are actually necessary.
