Why are there so many different versions? This is not the latest, or
at least not the latest according to the link I found.
And why does the F9 kernels have version 7.3.20 and not a newer e1000
driver?
Mogens
This is actually listed by Intel as "Intel(R) 82562V-2 10/100 Network
Connection" and is supported by the e100 driver series. Unfortunately,
Intel goes through hardware device IDs like potato chips, especially
with their NICs. And since a driver cannot guess at future hardware IDs,
with each new revision of hardware that Intel decides needs a new ID an
updated driver is necessary.
