i just *know* i'm going to regret asking this, but i've never bothered looking closely at it ... why is it that my newly-installed "driconf" package shows up under the gnome menu System -> Preference? as opposed to anywhere else? there's nothing in "rpm -qi driconf" that suggests that location, and if i look at /usr/share/applications/fedora-driconf.desktop, i read: [Desktop Entry] Name=Driconf Comment=configuration applet for the Direct Rendering Infrastructure Exec=/usr/bin/driconf Icon=/usr/share/driconf/driconf-icon.png Terminal=false Type=Application Encoding=UTF-8 Categories=Settings; X-Desktop-File-Install-Version=0.15 so ... what dictates where the menu entry for driconf shows up? thanks. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
