Hi, I will buy a printer EPSON Stylus C92, and I want to install it on my
Fedora 7. It doesnt have the drivers, so I dont know where to get one that
is guaranteed to work. I read about some TurboPrint, but Im not sure that
may work. I wanna be sure that the printer will work before I buy the
printer. Do u know how can I fix that??
Thank you,
Valentina
Suggestion, when preparing to buy a new printer that you want to use with
Linux, verify it is known to at least work a little bit by visiting the Linux
Printer reference site.
Printer reference site:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting
Understanding the data:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/Database/DatabaseIntro
Your printer looked up:
http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Epson-Stylus_C92
I don't know if the 5.0.1 version of gutenprint that you get in F7 (after an
update) has the C79 driver, or if you will have to play with one of the 5.0.2
driver packages from the site:
http://www.openprinting.org/show_driver.cgi?driver=gutenprint&fromprinter=Epson-Stylus_C92
It looks like one way or another (either with what comes with F7 or a slightly
newer gutenprint version), someone has made it work.
Hope this helps.
