NetworkManager Tool
State: connected
- Device: eth0 ----------------------------------------------------------------
Type: Wired
Driver: b44
State: connected
HW Address: 00:0D:56:36:EB:13
Capabilities:

Wired Settings
Note that it says the status is connected. On the other laptop, a Dell Precision Mobile M65, I get the following output
NetworkManager Tool
State: disconnected
- Device: eth0 ----------------------------------------------------------------
Type: Wired
Driver: tg3
State: unmanaged
HW Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Capabilities:
Supported: yes
Carrier Detect: yes
Speed: 1000 Mb/s
Wired Settings
Note that it says the state is disconnected despite the fact that I'm logged into the system remotely. Also note that the MAC address associated with the wired interface is all 0's. What's going on here? Anybody else see this problem? An lspci of the M65 shows:

The annoying aspect of this is that every time I start Firefox 3 it comes up in offline mode. I've had to go back to Firefox 2 to get around this annoyance.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Paolo
