If you want to burn DVD's with cdrecord, you need to download and compile the real cdrecord.

http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/cdrecord.html

Get the latest one from here:

ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/

Otherwise, to burn dvd's in Fedora without the real cdrecord, you may use growisofs which can also do the job

/***** straight from man page *****/
To use growisofs to write a pre-mastered ISO-image to a DVD:

            growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=image.iso

/***** end from man page *****/

$ growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=Fedora-9-i686-Live.iso

should do the job that you want. :)

Regards,

Antonio
