dvdrip won't

Anyone else running into problems using dvdrip to rip DVDs? This used
to work just fine for me a few weeks ago, but now whenever I try to
rip anything, it fails with the following output:

tcprobe -i /home/netllama/dvd/sendak/vob/001/
[fileinfo.c:118] file read error: No such file or directory
[tcprobe] unknown file type
[tcprobe] filetype/codec not yet supported by 'transcode'

This is Fedora8-i686. Note, I can still play the DVDs that refuse to
rip. The problem seems to be tcprobe from the transcode package (I've
tried from atrpms, livna & freshrpms, and they all fail like this).
