Does anyone know what the current status of Fedora 9 and the "fglrx" proprietary ATI video driver is? Are we still out-of-luck? When I installed an ATI video card in this (F8) computer, I discovered that to get the correct resolution for my monitor (1680x1050) I had to install the proprietary driver -- the built-in driver didn't go to that resolution. I'm currently holding off on updating to F9 because it's my understanding that the proprietary ATI driver is not yet available for F9. I just checked the livna package list for F9 and don't see it there.....
The updated radeon driver supports the ATI X1000 series cards quite well now. Its 3D capabilities are still sluggish, but for 2D desktop work, it seems to be just fine on my Dell Inspiron 9400 with ATI X1400 and WUXGA (1920x1200) display.
F9 configured it fine, right out of the box. Good Luck! -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
