FWIIW, I just went though the yum upgrade  route.
1. Update everything
2. clean yum
3. download the repositories rpms and install them
4. review /etc/yum/repos.d
5. update all, take out confilicting packages, do (5) again.
6. Profit! :)

Fedora has a doc on this together with the Release notes
