The session options are still there for kdm. If you're using gdm and for some reason it doesn't offer the options (I don't use it so I don't know) you can switch to kdm: create the file /etc/sysconfig/desktop with the following: #!/bin/sh DESKTOP="KDE" DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE" and restart X.
