Broken grub configuration installed by the F9 anaconda

I also had problems with the grub upgrade on one Fedora i386
Linux box after I installed Fedora 9 with the default option to
upgrade the existing boot partition. The machine booted up to
the point where the text GRUB was printed and then the boot
process hung. I worked around this by repeating the Fedora 9
upgrade install but selecting for a new grub boot loader
to be installed. This cleared up the problem (and was quick
since the upgrade install considered all of the Fedora 9
packages to be in already installed).

ps This machine had softraid partitions for all of the
partitions including swap.
