This is a very old yum/rpm bug.
You cannot update a "directory" with a "link".
You should
yum remove thunderbird
yum install thunderbird
or rm -rf /usr/lib/thunderbird-2.0.0.14/dictionaries
yum update

Ah. This looks like some sort of packaging issue unrelated to PackageKit
or yum. You should file a bug report in http://bugzilla.redhat.com
against the thunderbird package itself.
