The trick I use is basically:
# mv /usr/bin/Xorg /usr/bin/
# echo 'exec /usr/bin/ -ignoreABI "[email protected]"' > /usr/bin/Xorg
# chmod +x /usr/bin/Xorg

Works like a charm.
