In the mean time, is there something I can do to circumvent the error

# yum groupinstall "XFCE"
# yum install im-chooser im-chooser-xfce
Holy moley! remove im-chooser wants to take 23 dependant packages with
it. (all of them "scim*" - I don't know what that's for, even after
checking yum info.) Should that worry me?
How about
# yum groupinstall "XFCE" --exclude=im-chooser\*
Also, is it relevant im-chooser-xfce is not on the list of packages
for the groupinstall?
It is a conditional install package but optional (ie) it will only be
part of the transcation if you already have im-chooser installed.
