FYI:
Another resource I found to be useful is Super Grub Disk

Recently after installing rawhide and running several maintenance
updates my system would not reboot.  I seemed to have a good grub.conf
but the Master Boot Record(MBR) was hosed. I ran Super Grub Disk and was
able to boot successfully within 3 minutes.
