I have a Huawei ADSL modem working for almost a year. It was quite a
pain to install the first time, but once I got the right info I was able
to re-install it straight-forward.
At this moment it's working great, but I noticed some messages related
to the firmware:
usb 3-1: [ueagle-atm] ATU-R firmware version : 44e2ea17
usb 3-1: [Ueagle-atm] requesting firmware ueagle-atm/CMVep.bin.v2
failed, try to get older cmvs
usb 3-1: [Ueagle-atm] use deprecated cmvs version, please update your
firmware
usb 3-1: [ueagle-atm] modem started, waiting synchronization...
usb 3-1: [ueagle-atm] modem synchronization failed (may be try other
cmv/dsp)
usb 3-1: [ueagle-atm] (re)booting started
It keeps trying a few times (re-booting the modem) and at the end it
connects:
usb 3-1: [Ueagle-atm] requesting firmware ueagle-atm/CMVep.bin.v2
failed, try to get older cmvs
usb 3-1: [Ueagle-atm] use deprecated cmvs version, please update your
firmware
usb 3-1: [ueagle-atm] modem started, waiting synchronization...
usb 3-1: [ueagle-atm] modem operational
I'm using F8 with almost all upgrades:
Linux linus.marques 2.6.24.4-64.fc8 #1 SMP Sat Mar 29 09:54:46 EDT 2008
i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
The firmware I'm using I got it from here:
http://eagle-usb.org/ueagle-atm/non-free/ueagle-data-1.1.tar.gz
There's a 1.2 version which has a *not-working* in the file name.
Where can I get a newer firmware, if I really need it.
