Starting sometime after recent updates (not 100% which/when) - i have a problem where the screen blanks off while i am typing. This is running KDE - on F8 fully updated.

Laptop is IBM T42 with ATI R350 video card.

While the bluttooth mouse "wakes" up enuff I can see typing in the screen - there is no mouse pointer and the focus remained in the same window - ie mouse has no effect at all except to wake to move the screen from a tottally black to a faint images behind state.

Could this be a hardware problem ?
