Quite right -- it did say "15 updates". The file size counts are from /var/cache/yum/updates/packages, showing progress as of when I posted to the list. There were many more than 15 RPMs in the directory at the time -- I didn't write them down, and don't remember exactly. The upgrade finished this morning quite quickly, so whatever the problem was seems to have gone away; but it would be nice to know what the problem was. Thanks - Jon
