I had the same problem.  I updated 4 F8 systems the other night.  The kernel was updated on 2 of them and was not updated on the other 2.  Even after I did yum clean all to remove and cached information the 2 system still failed to update the kernel.  I ran

  yum list | grep kernel

on all 4 systems. On the 2 systems which had updated  it showed the updated kernel version.  On the 2 which failed to update it showed that I was running the most recent kernel.  It took a while before the 2 systems that finally succeeded in getting updated. 

I assume this simply means that some mirrors update more quickly than others.  Just be patient and try again later.
