If I understood correctly, you generate 50 GB of data every month on a
home-based non-networked single-desktop system? For curiosity sake, 50 GB of
what?

If it is home-made multimedia, it could surely be compressed to some
size-efficient format. If it is not multimedia, what is it?

Generally speaking, there is no single answer to the problem of backup. You
choose one or other solution based on type of data and size/time ratio, and
setup an optimal backup system for that. There is no tool in Fedora that does
what you want precisely because dvds are inefficient for that size/time
ratio, so nobody is performing the backup that way.
