The line it was complaining about was supposed to be this one
vo=xv,x11, but was actually xv-x11.  It must have gotten corrupted
during the install or during one of my (many) forays looking at various
scripts.  Any way, it is sorted for me now.  Thank you Obi-Wan (Ben
Kenobi).
