Can anyone suggest a good web application framework?

I'm about to give Catalyst a try. It appears to have been most recently released in October. It is Perl based which concerns me because I'm not deeply experienced in PHP.

CodeIgniter hasn't been updated since July 2007. That concerns me unless it is really mature.

Zend Framework looks like it is going to become commercial software, paid-for variety. I've been playing with it and it has been difficult, but this might be because I'm not deeply experienced in PHP.

There are several efforts in the works to create a php framework that builds reusable modules as you build your site with the framework.

Lots of things like many page forms that are re-enterable from any point, and complete ecommerce modules, and customizable database components that are automatically built and populated from just building the site, etc etc are available.

If you want to see the latest state of the art in automated site and database generation and content control, email trevyn who is at esourcehome.com

Good Luck!
