In my case, somehow PolicyKit was granted use of action "org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed" in order to mount all (!) known harddisk partitions, even those with "noauto" in /etc/fstab, but only for my primary uid. That was the case after repartitioning the primary drive while being active in GNOME. I had to "polkit-grant --delete ..." the ticket to fix it, although I don't remember that I had entered a password in a polkit-grant-helper dialog to create the ticket. Anyway, there are controversial changes in what PolicyKit does. Several reports in bugzilla are about that.
