When using the list to reply to a question it is best to not do so from a digest. The reason is that doing so will mess up the thread when the message is publically presented in the archives and within those e-mail clients which use the message address information to arrange the messages into "conversations". In this case, you apparently did not delete the unanswered parts of the message and the digest was long enough to exclude whatever it was you wrote. Have Fun! Tod
