Additionally, post "yum repolist". You can also verify the unresolved dependencies with "yum whatprovides ..." or "repoquery --whatprovides ...". For example, the "rpm-libs" package is _essential_, and there must be something wrong if your system doesn't see the new one. "yum list rpm-libs".
