If you can use the via driver, the man page says it supports xv video. In order for my Fedora 8 box to support xv (with an ATI radeon), I needed to install the packages mesa-libGL and libdrm. I also needed to add the following lines to my /etc/X11/xorg.conf: Section "Module" Load "dri" Load "drm" Load "extmod" Load "glx" EndSection Section "dri" Mode 0666 EndSection Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "enable" EndSection Jeff Krebs
